If anyone can speak about how seeing through a lens can alter our perceptions- it’s Louie. On December 9th, Louie presented this idea to the 500 employees of Hawaiian based sunglass maker, Maui Jim. Louie presented this concept using clips from his recent movie, Mysteries of the Unseen World, relating the connection between performance sunglasses and macro-camera technology.
Mysteries of the Unseen World was made utilizing Time-lapse, slow motion, macro photography and other techniques that enable the viewer to see what is too slow, too fast, too small and too vast for the human eye. With these techniques we can see more of what’s around us and create a closer connection with our own universe. We broaden our horizons and open our minds to the wonderful world that surrounds us by seeing the beauty of our natural world from a different perspective of time and scale.
Louie also spoke about change, a constant theme underlying Mysteries of the Unseen World. Change is necessary for growth and survival, the way nature evolves over time to survive changes in the environment. Since first opening in 1980, Maui Jim have worked hard to engineer cutting edge sunglasses that help combat intense glare and harmful UV. It’s not difficult to see the connection between a company focused on helping people better appreciate nature and Moving Art. We want to encourage everyone to appreciate what is all around them and with just a little bit of help, we can all see the beauty in nature every day.
