Cindy Decker of the Columbus Dispatch recently wrote an article bringing important attention to the fact that honeybees aren’t the only pollinators currently in danger. “Our plants are pollinated by a host of native bees, along with birds, bats, butterflies, moths, flies, beetles and wasps,” says Decker.
And it’s not just fruit and vegetables that are in jeopardy. “Think milk and cheese are outside the pollination circle? They aren’t. Cows eat forage crops such as alfalfa that rely on pollination,” she informs us.
