Our friend, mycologist Paul Stamets, recently caught up with Discover Magazine to discuss all the amazing healing properties that lie within mushrooms.
“Mushrooms are potential miracle workers, capable of cleaning up oil spills and radioactive contamination, filtering bacteria-tainted waste water, speeding reforestation of clear-cut woodlands, boosting agricultural yields, controlling insect pests and treating ailments ranging from cancer and bird flu to diabetes and dementia.”
Check out clip from our upcoming movie below:
Loved to hear Paul Stamets talk about the nature .. He is so inspiring.
Loved his quote ” the spirit of goodness “
I am a life long mushroom hunter, cultivator, and I love anything and everything fungi.
The words “inspiring” doesn’t began to describe the work Paul Stamets has done! He is nothing short of a hero in my eyes. There are so few that see our planet as Paul does, but the world would be such a better place if we did! I have truly high hopes this film will raise awareness and make the difference that Paul has worked so hard for. I’m sure the lives so many others, like myself, have been forever touched by this great man, and many more will to follow. Thanks for all the hard work you guys have done to lead us down the path of” the spirit of goodness “!
What a wonderful comment. Thank you, Kelly. Welcome to our tribe and we can’t wait to get to know you better!
Did you ever find out what type of mushroom that was? First I thought it was chicken of the woods. I have lots of those..but it doesn’t look like it up close.
Would love to know! I live in a very shady area and have been so upset I can not garden…and then I thought of mushrooms! I sold Pauls mushrooms when I worked in the natural food industry and always had such high regard for him. I am now going to study how to start growing mushrooms!
Very excited!
Do let me know what type of mushroom that is!

We believe in mycelium since we are tempeh pioneers, having produced Betsy’s Tempeh in Mich. for 9 1/2 years back in the 80’s. Right now we are going through a rough patch and are hopeful that the trametes versicolor will bring us much need relief.
